Approving KidZui in McAfee products

McAfee offers a variety of security solutions. We have included instructions on how to configure McAfee’s most popular products so that KidZui is able to connect while using your security software.

Creating an exception for KidZui in McAfee VirusScan

  1. Click on your Start/Windows buttion, then point to All Programs, then the McAfee folder and select the VirusScan Console icon.
  2. Right-click On-Access Scanner and select Properties.
  3. Click All Processes.
  4. Click Detection.
  5. Click Exclusions.
  6. Browse to the following folder:
    Windows 7: “C:/Program Files (x86)/Kidzui”
    Windows XP/Vista: “C:/Program Files/Kidzui“
  7. With the KidZui folder selected, click the OK button to create an exception for KidZui.

Creating an exception for KidZui in McAfee Internet Security / McAfee Security Center

  1. Double-click on the McAfee icon in your taskbar (by the Windows clock) to open Security Center.
  2. Click Advanced Menu.
  3. Click Configure.
  4. Click Internet & Network.
  5. Click Advanced.
  6. Click Program Permissions.
  7. If KidZui is already listed in the Program Permissions list, edit the entry for KidZui and make sure that it has been granted full access/permissions.
  8. If KidZui is not in the Program Permissions list, you will need to add it. Click the Add Allowed Program button, and then browse to the following folder:
    Windows 7: C:\Program Files (x86)\KidZui
    Windows XP/Vista: C:\Program Files\KidZui
  9. Select the kidzui.exe file (the KidZui K icon) and click OK to add the exception for KidZui. Make sure that KidZui has been granted full access/permissions before trying to load KidZui again.

Restoring default firewall settings for McAfee Total Protection

  1. Click on your Windows/Start button, then point to All Programs, then the McAfee folder, then select McAfee Total Protection.
  2. Click Firewall.
  3. Click the Settings link.
  4. Click the Restore Defaults button.
