About advertisements in KidZui
KidZui Ads
KidZui makes the Internet big and fun for kids. We continually ask for feedback from our customers and we heard one request loud and clear: make KidZui free. Of course we thought this was a great idea! Since we also need to keep the lights on we decided to sell advertising space to pay the bills. Our advertisers are kid-friendly companies that offer products and services that your kids are excited to learn about. These include new kid's movie releases, the latest online games, the hottest new toys, and favorite websites, to name a few.
As parents ourselves, we work closely with our advertising partners to ensure the KidZui ads enhance your child’s experience on KidZui. These ads must be:
- Relevant and fun – our advertisers must adhere to our strict editorial policy
- Age appropriate – ten year olds are not likely to see the same ads as three year olds
- Prominently noted – all ads will have the word “AD” in the top corner
- Limited exposure – we strike a balance between the content and number of ads
Ads on Third Party Websites
The KidZui browser encompasses millions of websites, many of which serve their own advertisements. The KidZui editorial team reviews all of the ads that are served on a website in addition to the site content itself during the approval process. If a website has great content but ads that are not relevant or appropriate for children, the site will not be added to KidZui.
It’s important to note that many of these sites use 3rd party ad servers which rotate ads over time. Because of this nature, it’s possible that some ads may appear after a website has been approved. If you or your child sees an ad that is inappropriate, please report it to KidZui for resolution. Although KidZui does not have control over these ads, we definitely have control over your child’s interaction the ads. For example, if your child clicks on an ad to a destination page that is not approved by KidZui, they will not be able to navigate to that destination page. Rather, your child will receive a message saying the page is not available and they can continue using KidZui.
KidZui does not attempt to completely block ads on third party sites because these websites are providing valuable content to children for free. Many of these sites are compensated for this valuable content through their advertising sales. The KidZui team appreciates this fact and does not wish to dismantle a company’s business model for our own gain.
