Hi Dee,
I'm sorry to hear that the Zui items are not loading. I recommend removing and re-installing Adobe Flash on your computer to see if this will resolve the issue. To remove Flash, please click here. You will be taken to Adobe's website, where you will be able to download a utility to completely remove the Flash plug-in from your computer. After you've downloaded and run the removal tool, please visit Adobe's homepage and click on the Get Adobe Flash Player button to download Flash again.
Depending on the version of KidZui that you're using, you will need to re-install Flash using a specific web browser. If you are using:
KidZui for Windows: Flash must be installed using Internet Explorer KidZui for Mac: Flash must be installed using Safari KidZui add-on for Firefox: Flash must be installed using Mozilla Firefox
If re-installing Flash doesn't resolve the missing Zui items, you may want to try re-installing KidZui. To do so, please remove KidZui from your computer, then download the KidZui browser again by clicking here.
If you continue to have trouble with Zui items not loading, please let me know.
Have a great weekend,
Dustin

Ok I unloaded both the Flash and the Kidzui and then downloaded the latest
version of Adobe Flash and re-installed Kidzui. Still cannot see zui
figures?

Hi Diedre,
There's a chance that something may be blocking KidZui from talking to our servers to gather information about Zui items. Can you provide a little more detail about your computer?
Thanks,
Dustin

Hi Diedre,
Sorry for the delayed response, but I wanted to refer to my colleagues before responding. Just to verify, you did completely remove KidZui from your computer before re-installing the browser, correct?
Also, are you experiencing the issue with Zui items not loading during the account creation process, or is this after your son has logged in and is trying to make changes to his Zui character?
If you have the Mozilla Firefox browser installed on your computer, you might want to try the KidZui add-on for Firefox to see if you encounter the same issue. You can install the Firefox add-on by visiting our download page and clicking the Firefox link in the KidZui is also available for box. After doing so, click the green Add to Firefox button to install the add-on.
Thanks for your patience as we work to determine the cause of your issue!

Yes, I uninstalled the Kidzui completely and then reinstalled. When I try
to setup the account and pick his kidzui person, no selections show up to
pick from. So then I just setup with out picking a person and we go into
edit after logging into the account and still no pictures show up to edit.
I just see the buttons that say "choose a boy or a girl" "choose a color"
etc. We do not have the Firefox browser, we have internet explorer and use
yahoo as our main screen.
Thanks

Hi Diedre,
I'm thinking that there may be some information stuck in your cache/temporary internet files that may be instructing KidZui to look for the Zui items at an invalid location. Clearing out your Internet Explorer cache may resolve your issue. To do so, please open IE, then click the Tools menu and select Internet Options. When the Internet Options window opens, make sure you have the General tab selected, then cilck the Delete button under the Browsing history heading. Place checks next to the Temporary Internet Files and Cookies options, then click OK to delete the items. Once done, open KidZui again and try editing your child's Zui.
Please let me know if clearing the temporary internet files doesn't fix the missing Zui items.
Thanks again,
Dustin

Hi Diedre,
Are you having trouble loading anything else in KidZui, such as tags, backgrounds, or any of the web content?
KidZui's Zui items download directly to your computer, so determining whether or not the download has taken place should help us pinpoint whether the issue is with the KidZui browser itself or if your computer is having trouble talking to our servers. You can locate these items by following the steps below:
Windows XP: 1. Click on Start, then click My Computer.
2. When the window opens, click on the Tools menu and select Folder Options.
3. Click the View tab, then under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders. Click OK.
4. In the My Computer window, click through the following folders (italic items will be named differently on your computer): Hard Drive (usually C:) > Documents and Settings > Your Windows account name > Application Data > KidZui > assets > avatar
5. Look for any files in the folder. If the folder is empty, your computer has been unable to connect to our server to download Zui items.
Windows Vista and Windows 7: 1. Click on the Windows button and select Computer.
2. When the window opens, click on the Organize button and select Folder and Search Options.
3. Click the View tab, then under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders. Click OK.
4. In the Computer window, click through the following folders (italicized items will be named differently on your computer): Hard Drive (usually c:) > Users > Your Windows account name > AppData > Roaming > KidZui > assets > avatar.
5. Look for any files in the folder. If the folder is empty, your computer has been unable to connect to our server to download Zui items.
Let me know if you find any items in the avatar folder.
Thanks,
Dustin

Help! I downloaded KidZui a couple of times on my Apple, but each time I can't get into the program. The welcome page is available and the page to create an account for my grandchild is available, but it wants parental permission. When I go back, it won't take my name and password???
Support Staff 12 Posted by Dustin R. on 15 Aug, 2010 10:48 PM
Hi Brucelle,
It sounds like you have Apple's parental controls enabled, which are likely blocking KidZui. In order for KidZui to work properly with the OS-X parental controls, you will have to approve access to the KidZui program, as well as allow access to the following web address: https://ec2-75-101-149-115.compute-1.amazonaws.com
After approving access to both of these items, you should be able to access KidZui.
Thanks,
Dustin

Thanks, Dustin. Yes, I have parental controls enabled. I kept working
on the program and finally got it going for both kids. They'll be
surprised next time they come over. It's great to have your support.
Take care,

Hi Diedre,
Sorry that the thread got off-topic there. Were you able to determine whether or not KidZui had downloaded the Zui items to your computer? In case you missed my instructions on how to determine that, here they are again:
Windows XP:
Windows Vista and Windows 7:
If you can let me know whether or not any of the files have downloaded, we should be able to identify where in the process your version of KidZui is getting stuck and hopefully provide some new suggestions for you.
Thanks,
Dustin

Hi Dustin. I checked the folder Avatar as you suggested and it is indeed
empty. What should we do to get the zui's??
Thanks

Hi Diedre,
I'm sorry I was unable to respond to you yesterday. I spoke with our engineering team, and they believe the issue may be with the permissions on your Windows account - specifically, the account that you're trying to use KidZui under does not have permission to download and save the Zui files to your hard drive. There's a quick and easy way that we can confirm this. Please follow the steps below.
Windows XP: Hard Drive (usually C:) > Documents and Settings > Your Windows account name > Application Data > KidZui > assets > avatar
Windows Vista/7: Hard Drive (usually c:) > Users > Your Windows account name > AppData > Roaming > KidZui > assets > avatar.
If you're unable to complete any of the items in steps 3 or 4, we can conclude that your user account does not have permission to save files to the avatar folder. If this is the case, please let us know, and we will go from there.
Thanks,
Dustin
